Consultation & Training

Dr. Gallagher is available to provide consultation to attorneys and other mental health professionals regarding the intersection of mental health issues and the law. She has an in-depth knowledge of case law as it relates to mental health issues before the court, as well as the ethics and best practices of forensic mental health assessment. As the director of a university-based forensic psychology fellowship program she was often sought out by attorneys and other professionals in the community for this knowledge. She has provided professional trainings in the past on topics such as:

  • Advanced Issues in Competency Assessment
  • Difficult Issues in Insanity Evaluations
  • Understanding Diminished Capacity
  • Juvenile Transfer to Adult Court
  • Understanding Psychological Testing
  • Forensic Report Writing

She is available to provide professional trainings on these and other related topics to professional associations, legal groups, and graduate level training programs. She is also available for individual consultation to attorneys and other mental health professionals who are handling cases where forensic mental health issues have arisen.
